A nice piece written by Greg Peters and photographed by Cathrine Walters. The article describes the national trend of youth sports migrating towards more non-traditional sports and the impact that it has locally. Included with the Gnar Pirates are MT Alpha Cycling and Unparalleled Movement.
I am happy that the collective hard work of like-minded individuals has produced such an amazing opportunity for the youth of Missoula. On our end, the kids deserve all the kuddos. They train hard, sometimes on their own for something that they believe in and makes them whole. They travel long distances, make up school work at airports and hotel rooms and often times have to perform at a high level after a ten hour car ride. They get very little recognition from peers outside of their respective community, and at such a formative age that can be devastating. Congratulations Gnar Pirates. Keep up the strong work. You deserve every single bit of this!

Defying Gravity and the Gnar Pirates will be doing our summer adopt a highway trash pickup this Sunday, July 24th. If you are interested, please met us at Lolo Hot Springs at 10:30am for a safety meeting and to go over the schedule of the clean up. Thanks!
Defying Gravity would like to welcome our newest competition sponsor Rocky Mountain Climbing Gear. Rocky Mountain Climbing Gear uses recycled materials to manufacture rock climbing holds. Owner Carl Keene has worked in the aerospace industry for over 16 years, building and designing high performance, composite aircraft parts. While working in aerospace, Carl was always looking for a way to use the materials that he saw being wasted on a daily basis. Carl now recycles everything from plastics to epoxy, to make a strong and durable, very realistic nontoxic climbing hold products. Rocky Mountain Climbing Gear holds have been tested our all environments. Our test holds have been smashed, beaten, thrown and left out in the elements. Rocky Mountain Climbing Holds will not chip, crack or fade in any environment.
